The test drive begins . . .
Here we are in beta! Thanks for stopping by!
Some notes as you start using the platform:
Create a rich profile. Gather what you'll need: a photo, urls for on-line press that features you, urls for websites you constantly use in your work, your social media links, and audio clips you'll want potential clients to hear. You don't have to get it right the first time. You'll be able to tailor your presence on Erggo any time you'd like. We think you'll find it a great way to present yourself to the our community as it grows. Remember that your profile will be detailed, and as important, it will be networked. You're not building a mailbox in the woods. People will find you on Erggo, and they'll be able to get a real sense of who you are and what you bring to the table.
Write for your community on Erggo Stories. We wanted to distinguish Erggo by letting you express yourself on this publishing platform. We'd like to see you develop distinctive voices to capture the attention of producers and publishers out there. Those same producers and publishers will use Erggo for their own needs: to manage and promote their brands, to keep us up-to-date on the interesting projects on their desks, to advertise the kinds of talent they're looking for. In short, while we're finishing the development of the talent acquisition (er. . . "search") functionality and project management software, we want you to begin writing about your work life. Give us your thoughts as creative talents and leaders in your industry. Use Erggo Stories for more extended thoughts than you'd post on social media pages.
Note that there are options here. You can publish your content for everyone (the "public" option), for a specific circle of viewers (the "private" option), or you can use the "draft" option to put the piece aside for further scribbling. (BTW We're still at work on the sharing and comments functions, so for "private" publishing, just link your circle of readers to the story's unique url.)
Please tag your work. We need to develop categories and sub-categories that you'll (eventually) be able to search. This will allow you to generate a feed tailored to your needs and interests. The more tags we have, the richer we'll be able to make your experience.
One last note: The cover photo I've chosen for this welcome message is from Kristin Osterberg's painting Wild Boy. (Check out Kristin's work at kristinosterbergstudio.com and follow her on Instagram at @kristinosterberg.) The oil painting is a big canvas, a boy poking at a lakeside fire in southern Vermont. It's an image of primitive vitality--a little savage but filled with concentrated energy. That's how I view Erggo is at this point in its development. A little untamed but ablaze with life and possibilities. Prove me right! (Full disclosure: Kristin is my wife and that boy is Sé, my second son. And yes, he is a wild boy.)
Our team wants to glean as much as we can from your experience. Tell us about the good, the bad, and the ugly at smm@erggo.us. You'll also see a little bubble at the lower right-hand corner of the page. That's a messaging app for support (Smooch). You can reach us there as well. Either way, we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
Thanks again for helping to get us started. We're grateful. And there's a lot in it for you, too. Erggo should provide a fun, engaging experience. If our platform works, it'll change your work life.
Here's to the beginning of a beautiful and productive friendship!
