Description
About Kristin

Audiobook narration was the perfect, serendipitous marriage of my two loves: books and theater. In college, I majored in English literature and drama, and the opportunity to become a professional audiobook narrator was a dream come true, and I am grateful I was in the right place at the right time to get started in the industry. I'm a professional audiobook narrator (90+ titles/projects), commercial VO actor, documentary narrator, audiobook director, theater actor, theater director, and the former Casting Director and former Talent Director for ListenUp Audiobooks in Atlanta, GA,. I am also an audiobook narration ... more instructor/coach,. I recently moved from Atlanta, GA, where I worked for ListenUp Audiobooks for 5 years (both as a narrator and the Casting Director), to Naples, FL to pursue my longtime dream of writing my first book. I have been away from narrating audiobooks for a year, however, and I am eager to begin narrating again. I am currently working with a colleague to build a home studio which should be ready by the end of the year. And I have access to professional studios in the Naples, FL area. I specialize in making non-fiction interesting and engaging, I am perfectly comfortable with most erotica, and I love books with great characters and accents. I developed curriculum for and ran ListenUp Academy, the teaching arm of ListenUp Audiobooks. As the Talent Director for ListenUp, I trained and directed new narrators, I directed author reads, including celebrity author reads. I was a featured guest speaker at the VO Atlanta conference for two years, both in my capacity as an audiobook narrator (I was on a narrator panel with Scott Brick) and in my capacity as an audiobook casting director. I am also "The Voice of The Suzi Bass Awards", the professional equity theater awards show for Atlanta theater, where I live-announce the show every year. My narration of NYT Bestseller Factory Man by Beth Macy (Tom Hanks has optioned the rights to produce a mini series) was reviewed in the Chicago Tribune (link no longer available). The review was as follows: "Kristin Kalbli has narrated many books, including several nonfiction titles. Her clear voice and measured reading provide a smooth ride to carry this unique story." I look forward to getting back into the studio, back in front of the microphone, and creating vocally compelling narrations for my producer clients once again! less
