About Janina
Janina Edwards is a native of Chicago, IL, and a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Acting Program. She excels at portraying believable and compelling characters of African Americans and other people of the African Diaspora, plus other English speaking cultures (for example, West Indian, or Yoruba).
"I love to narrate audiobooks of all kinds, but my mission is to give a voice to stories, messages, and writers that reflect authentic stories of people of color, and/or humanist and yogic principles. Through my work, I want to give voice to the change I want to see in the world."

in her CV, Janina has recorded for respected publishers such as Brilliance Audio, Simon & Schuster, Blackstone, Deyan Audio, Beacon Press, Audible Studios, Dreamscape, Harper, John Marshall Media, Hachette and others.
Janina primarily in her home studio which utilizes a Mac Book Pro laptop, Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface, Neumann T-103 microphone. The booth is treated with Auralex foam. She prefers Adobe Audition as audio editor and DAW.
Beyond her audiobook work, Janina shines in elearning and explainer voiceovers, and industrial narration.
Janina’s eclectic background includes 5 years in the New York and Chicago Santeria communities where she was initiated. She is a former dancer (African Folkloric, Modern, Belly Dance) and former amateur long distance runner, having completed the Chicago Marathon twice and the Georgia Half Marathon 3 times. Janina was the Props Manager for the Tony Award winning Alliance Theatre, the southeast’s largest regional theatre, for 5 years. She left that job to start her own company (JustWrite! Communications & Proposals) and give time and attention to her then 12-year old daughter.
Janina is a certified yoga instructor, teaching Classical, Restorative, and Aqua yoga. She volunteers teaching yoga at a shelter for women who experienced domestic abuse.
Finally Janina is a writer. Her work appears regularly in The Ethel and Sisters. Her work has also been seen on the National Parks website, and NRS’ Duct Tape Diaries. She is seeking an agent for her book (working title) Be Wise: A Daughter’’ Reluctant Journey through Dementia.
