In a nutshell, it was always about words -- I have been in love with language for all of memory. I received a BA in Secondary English Education while also pursuing theater, then built on my enthusiasm for words by working in libraries and bookstores, and teaching high school English. What writers do is a sort of alchemy; that they can create characters and convey an idea or event onto paper such that I can experience it -- however many miles or generations away -- fascinates me.
